prima:2020 Census: population overcount sows doubts about economic projections

The 174,000 population overcount in Puerto Rico that the Census Bureau released last week - one of the most significant statistical errors identified among all U.S. jurisdictions that participated in the 2020 Census - casts doubt on economic projections for Puerto Rico, whose government began implementing a Debt Adjustment Plan just five months ago and which relies heavily on an unprecedented flow of federal funds to leave behind a recession that has spanned 15 years.
