Genera PR launches plan to decommission the first generation plants In the initial phase, components from eight units currently out of service would be dismantled and sold.
Sometime in the next few months, Genera PR will start evaluating how to decommission the first group of generation units that have been out of service for several years. This task is part of the operator’s contract, but it still needs approval from the Puerto Rico Energy Bureau (NEPR) and the Puerto Rico Public-Private Partnerships Authority (P3A).
