At noon on Wednesday, the Nuevo Estilo beauty salon, in the heart of Borinquen Avenue, in Barrio Obrero, remained open as usual, but no customers had entered. Until a month and a half ago, dozens of women, among them, with undefined immigration status, frequently attended this Dominican hair salon, which has not happened again since the beginning of the immigration operations in the community.
