The interim president of the University of Puerto Rico (UPR), Nivia Fernández Hernández, yesterday admitted that she is evaluating whether to issue the payroll checks for the Río Piedras Campus employees during the students’ walkout. Meanwhile, the strikers urged Governor Ricardo Rosselló Nevares to give in to their claims to avoid prolonging the work stoppage.
