The New Progressive Party (NPP) candidate for resident commissioner in Washington, Jenniffer González, pointed out that Puerto Rico should be able to obtain federal funds from 841 different programs, but that it only receives funds from 214. To, at the very least, aid veterans and military personnel, she presented 10 proposals so "they don’t suffer disparities; after all they have battled they do not receive equal treatment" in services or funds that they could obtain if they lived in one of the 50 states.
