PREPA’s Executive Director explains budget reprogramming requestLast week, the Oversight Board asked for explanations on the public utility’s request to add $200 million to the repair works item
Josué Colón Ortiz, executive director of the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (PREPA), said that the budget discrepancies recently pointed out by the Oversight Board mainly respond to a series of projects funded with federal funds that were completed or are currently being executed, and for which the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) would have sent the reimbursements to the public utility.
