Students Reject UPR Cutbacks

They will march to the Capitol on Thursday and they do not rule out reaching Fortaleza

Engulfed in an atmosphere of uncertainty, the student body of the University of Puerto Rico (UPR) is preparing to participate this week in a march to the Capitol, in order to express its rejection of the $300-million cutback. Meanwhile, interim president Nivia Fernández is working on a fiscal plan that reflects the financial reality of the Island’s main educational institution.
