To make the development of the electric cable between Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic viable, the proponent company is promoting, in parallel, the development of two generation facilities in the neighboring country, including a solar farm and a natural gas-fired production plant, according to the first public hearing held Tuesday by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to analyze the environmental impact of the project.
