The Committee approves self-determination resolution

The UN Decolonization Committee declared that “less than 23% of the voters participated” of the Island’s plebiscite and that it was not designed to put an end to the colony.

New York– The most recent resolution of the United Nations Decolonization Committee in favor of the self-determination and independence of Puerto Rico was approved yesterday, as part of a session in which its president recognized that the past efforts to relate the United States government with a dialog about the future of the Island were unsuccessful.
