“The system failed her”: experts call for strategies against gender-based violence after feminicide in Gurabo
At the time of her murder, Karla Rodríguez Ares had a protection order against her ex-partner and alleged murderer, Víctor Ramos Rivera. She was also awaiting a hearing on an arrest warrant requested by prosecutors after a Caguas court judge dismissed a charge of aggravated assault.
