Civil Rights Commission at a standstill: only one of its five members has been appointed
The Commission, which addresses complaints regarding alleged human rights violations and has suffered the “disdain” of past administrations, sent several letters to Pedro Pierluisi seeking to resolve the situation, but the governor stated that “it is not easy” to recruit for positions that require the Senate advice and consent.
