Eight U.S. Senators recently signed a four-paragraph letter to the U.S. Attorney General arguing that the so-called commonwealth is a “valid” option that should be included in a plebiscite aimed at resolving Puerto Rico’s future political status. Senator Roger Wicker (R-MS) signed first. Senators Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Thom Tillis (R-NC), Richard Burr (R-NC), Roy Blunt (R-MO), Thad Cochran (R-MS), Mike Enzi (R-WY), and Tom Cotton (R-AR) followed.
